We are looking for a PhD student to work on a project at the cross-road between organic and polymer chemsitry. 

Subject:
The research project will focus on the development of new free-radical processes to upcycle polyethylene.

Candidate Profile: The candidate will hold a master degree or any equivalent diploma in chemistry with honours with a general background and a strong interest in both organic and polymer chemistry. As the project lies at the interface between molecular and macromolecular chemistry, the candidate is expected to have a good practice of both organic and polymer chemistry. Experience in handling compounds under an inert atmosphere as well as in the application of a spectrum of diverse analytical techniques to characterize small molecules and polymers (NMR, IR, MS, DSC, TGA, SEC,…) is thus compulsory. Knowledge of the fundamentals of radical chemistry would be welcome.
